New Delhi, Feb. 14 -- The Indian government has consolidated its electric mobility initiatives under the recently launched PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme, according to Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma.
The minister provided these details in a written response to the Rajya Sabha, outlining the evolution and scope of the government's electric vehicle promotion efforts.
The initiative began with the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024, which was introduced through Gazette Notification 1334 (E) on March 13, 2024.
