New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- TheGovernment of Indiahas increased the monthly stipend for apprentices to a range ofRs 6,800 to Rs 12,300, up from the earlierRs 5,000 to Rs 9,000.
The decision comes as part of recent amendments to theApprenticeship Rules, 1992, aimed at enhancing skilling opportunities and making apprenticeships more attractive to youth.
This hike will be applicable to apprentices registered under theNational Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme(NAPS)and theNational Apprenticeship Training Scheme(NATS).
The move is expected to improve participation from both students and industry, helping bridge the gap between education and employment.
