New Delhi, June 12 -- The Commerce Ministry announced the formation of a task force aimed at boosting India's textile exports, targeting a goal of USD 100 billion by 2030-31.

The initiative seeks to unify efforts and address key challenges across the textile value chain.

The first meeting of the task force was held on June 10, chaired by Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal.

He emphasised the importance of creating a unified platform involving all stakeholders to resolve sectoral issues and increase India's share in global textile markets.

Special Secretary Rajesh Agrawal highlighted the need for innovation and alignment with international trends to capture a larger market share.
