New Delhi, March 22 -- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to enhance defence innovation by collaborating with the private sector and establishing 15 Centres of Excellence.

The initiative aims to boost self-reliance in defence technology under the "Make in India" initiative.

Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, informed Parliament on Friday that the DRDO has introduced new deep tech and cutting-edge policies under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme.

These policies facilitate funding through grants to private entities for the joint development of emerging defence technologies.
