Bengaluru, April 23 -- Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai has reached out to the central government for providing assistance in setting up mega textile parks in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura districts in the state.

The head of the state has requested the union government's support in infrastructure and other facilities.

Calling Karnataka as the leader in the garments sector, CM Bommai said on Friday that mega textile parks would be set up in Kalaburagi and Vijayapura.

"Union Government has been requested to assist the state in providing infrastructure and other facilities," he added.

A three-dimensional approach will be undertaken to develop Kalyana Karnataka with a proposed sanction of Rs 3,000 crore, informed CM Bommai.
