New Delhi, July 16 -- The Central Government has introduced a Rs 1,000 crore scheme to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) shift to energy-efficient technologies through financial and technical support.

Named ADEETIE (Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries and Establishments), the scheme was launched by Power Minister Manohar Lal in Panipat, Haryana.

Describing ADEETIE as a "transformative movement," the minister said the initiative aims to make Indian MSMEs globally competitive by adopting sustainable practices. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) will implement the scheme across 14 energy-intensive sectors.
