Itanagar, Aug. 13 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved an investment of Rs 8,146.21 crore for the construction of the 700 MW Tato-II Hydroelectric Project in Shi Yomi district, Arunachal Pradesh. The project is expected to be completed within 72 months.
Designed with an installed capacity of 4x175 MW, the facility will generate an estimated 2,738.06 million units of energy annually.
Officials said the project will improve power supply in Arunachal Pradesh and contribute to balancing the national grid.
The venture will be implemented through a joint venture between the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Ltd. (NEEPCO) and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
