New Delhi, Sept. 30 -- Carlsberg, the Danish brewing giant, has announced a major investment ofRs 1,250 crorein India's food processing industry.

The commitment was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) at theWorld Food India 2025event held in New Delhi from September 25 to 28.

The investment plan focuses on both greenfield and brownfield projects across three states. Carlsberg will investRs 500 crorein a new greenfield facility in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra.

In addition,Rs 400 crorewill be used to expand its existing facility in Hooghly, West Bengal, andRs 350 crorewill go towards expansion in Mysuru, Karnataka.
