New Delhi, Feb. 2 -- The Union Budget 2026-27 has strongly reinforced India's ambition to emerge as a global hub for electronics and semiconductors, with a clear thrust on skills-led growth, said Saleem Ahmed, Officiating Head, Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI).

Reacting to the Budget, Ahmed said the launch of India Semiconductor Mission 2.0, with its focus on indigenous equipment, materials, full-stack intellectual property, and industry-driven research and training centres, is expected to reshape skill requirements across the semiconductor value chain.
