New Delhi, June 14 -- The Wholesale Price Inflation (WPI) for the month of May 2022 has been recorded at 15.88 per cent as compared to 13.11 per cent in May 2021. The number has remained in double digits for the fourteenth consecutive month.

The primary reason for this increase is the hike in the prices of mineral oils, crude petroleum & natural gas, food articles, basic metals, non-food articles, chemicals & chemical products and food products etc. as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, as per the government data.
