New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- The Adani Group has announced its entry into the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) segment with a 1126 MW / 3530 MWh project, marking India's largest such installation and one of the biggest single-location deployments worldwide.
The project, involving more than 700 BESS containers, is scheduled for commissioning by March 2026, the company said in a release on Tuesday.
Located at Khavda - the site of the world's largest renewable energy plant - the storage system will use advanced lithium-ion technology integrated with energy management systems.
It is designed to store 3530 MWh of energy, enabling a power capacity of 1126 MW for roughly three hours.
