New Delhi, July 23 -- About 800 manufacturers in the toy industry primarily from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector have already taken the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification.

Since January 2021, toys are required to mandatorily have quality certification.

Making such products have mandatory quality certification the BIS has urged consumers to buy toys bearing the 'ISI mark' from the market.

The National Standard body has asked customers to file a complaint if they see any toy sold without the 'ISI mark'.

Complaints can be filed through BIS Care app or write to complaints@bis.gov.in, it said in a statement.
