New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- Five lakh micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India have achieved Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) certification.

In a post on X, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said, "A truly great moment to see 5 lakh MSMEs adopting quality as a critical enabler of competitiveness through ZED certification."

The ZED initiative, introduced under the aegis of Make in India and supported by Prime Minister Modi, aims to encourage MSMEs to focus on quality and sustainability. It promotes two core principles: Zero Defect, delivering products that meet global standards, and Zero Effect, ensuring minimal environmental and social impact.
