Afghanistan, Aug. 16 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Washington on Monday for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, following recent discussions with European leaders on Ukraine's ongoing war.

The Ukrainian presidency announced on Monday, August 18, that President Volodymyr Zelensky will travel to Washington for talks with U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Kyiv, the two leaders held an extended conversation earlier in the day, later joined by several European leaders as part of wider consultations.

The White House confirmed that Trump and Zelensky spoke by phone while Trump was returning from Alaska, shortly after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
