World, Sept. 17 -- Succeeding Shinzo Abe former Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshihide Suga was elected as the new Prime Minister to Lead Japan.

The former chief cabinet secretary won the leadership of the party on Wednesday.

He is a close ally to Shinzo Abe former prime minister, who resigned last month due to ill health conditions.

Yoshida is expected to run Abe's policies, following his resignation as Japan's Prime Minister.

The former prime minister said he was proud of his achievements during his nearly eight years in power.

Suga won the seat as the new Prime minister through Japan's lower house votes, receiving 314 votes out of 426.

Besides his cabinet, soon Japan's emperor will ceremonially endorse him at the Imperial Palace- Japan...
