Afghanistan, June 26 -- US veterans are being recruited to support Afghan allies at immigration hearings, offering moral support and aiding them in the legal process.

Following the revocation of Temporary Protected Status for thousands of Afghan citizens by the U.S. government, two refugee advocacy organizations have launched a new initiative aimed at supporting Afghan allies at risk of deportation. The initiative, named "Warrior Friends," encourages U.S. veterans to attend immigration court hearings to support their former Afghan allies.
