Afghanistan, Feb. 17 -- Nigeria says about 100 US troops arrived to support local forces with training and advice against Islamist insurgent threats in the country.
Authorities in Nigeria announced on Monday that around 100 troops from the United States have entered the country to assist in countering Islamist insurgent groups.
A spokesman for the Defence Headquarters said the American personnel will train and advise Nigerian forces and will not participate directly in combat operations.
