Afghanistan, Feb. 27 -- U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts has accepted a request from the Trump administration to pause a court order that mandated the U.S. government pay $2 billion in foreign aid for State Department and USAID projects.
The decision was made on Wednesday, February 26, with Roberts, who is responsible for emergency requests in the District of Columbia, choosing to suspend the ruling on his own.
This ruling had been issued by U.S. District Judge Amir Ali on Tuesday, requiring the State Department and USAID to pay outstanding debts to contractors who had completed their work before February 13.
