Afghanistan, Aug. 13 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Hamas must not govern Gaza, insisting lasting peace requires removing its military threat and restructuring the territory's political power.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has declared that continued Hamas governance of the Gaza Strip is unacceptable and should not be tolerated by the international community.
Rubio stressed that the ongoing war in Gaza will only end when Hamas no longer poses a military threat to Israel or the wider region. "Lasting peace in Gaza requires fundamental changes in the territory's power structure," he said.
