Afghanistan, Aug. 15 -- US President said international journalists should be allowed into Gaza to report freely on humanitarian conditions, urging greater transparency amid ongoing conflict and restrictions on independent media access.

U.S. President Donald Trump has called for journalists to be allowed into Gaza to witness and report on humanitarian efforts in the war-torn territory.

Reuters reported on Thursday, August 14, that since the start of Israel's war in October 2023, foreign journalists have only been permitted to enter Gaza under Israeli military escort.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he would like this restriction eased and had "no problem" with journalists traveling to Gaza to report independently.
