Afghanistan, Jan. 29 -- Following the suspension of U.S. financial aid for at least three months, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued an exemption for life-saving humanitarian assistance.

Reuters reported on Wednesday, January 29, that Rubio issued this directive on Tuesday. According to the report, last Friday, Rubio had also granted an exemption for food aid, particularly for Sudan and Syria.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that a federal judge has temporarily blocked the suspension of U.S. aid that was ordered by President Donald Trump.

With Trump's return to office, all U.S. financial aid, including humanitarian assistance, has been put on hold.
