Afghanistan, Dec. 6 -- The United States has created a new migrant vetting unit following the National Guard shooting, aiming to strengthen security screening and prevent future threats.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the creation of a specialized security unit designed to strengthen screening procedures for immigration applications. The agency says the new division will review cases involving suspected terrorists, criminal migrants, and individuals considered potential national security threats.

USCIS stated on Friday, December 5, that the unit will allow officials to respond more rapidly and effectively to emerging risks across the immigration system.
