Afghanistan, Jan. 17 -- The peace negotiations between the Taliban and the US peace envoy Zalmay Khalilzad resumed on Thursday after the Taliban announced their Chief, Mullah Haibatullah Akhund has agreed to a 10-day 'ceasefire'.

The Taliban and US envoy have discussed over a 'peace deal' signing, a spokesperson to Taliban delegation, Suhail Shaheen tweeted.

"Taliban's negotiators headed by Mullah Brother Akhund and the US delegation led by Zalmay Khalilzad have discussed over a 'peace deal' signing," Shaheen said.

According to Shaheen, the discussions will continue for the next few days in Qatar between the Taliban and US delegations.
