Afghanistan, May 13 -- The U.S. and China have agreed to pause tariffs for 90 days, aiming to ease trade tensions and stabilize markets.
According to Reuters, under the terms of the agreement, the retaliatory tariffs that had reached as high as 145% on Chinese goods and 125% on American products have been reduced by over 100%, returning to a base rate of 10%.
This decision comes after weeks of escalating trade tensions that had rattled global markets and fueled fears of an extended economic conflict between the world's two largest economies.
