Afghanistan, Nov. 13 -- UNICEF is supporting health workers in Afghanistan to combat child malnutrition, providing training and resources to treat children and prevent unnecessary hospitalizations.
The European Union's humanitarian aid program said UNICEF, with financial support from ECHO-Asia, is helping Afghan health workers address child malnutrition through home-based care.
Health staff will visit children in their homes to provide treatment for malnutrition, reducing the need for hospitalization, the program said on Thursday.
UNICEF is providing training to ensure these workers can identify and manage malnutrition promptly through outpatient care, improving early intervention and outcomes for children.
