Afghanistan, Feb. 7 -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has stated that it has provided winter clothing to 35,000 children in Afghanistan.

In a report shared on its X account on February 5, 2025, the organization thanked the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), noting that this aid will keep over 35,000 children warm during the winter.

According to the report, UNICEF's winter aid packages include jackets, hats, trousers, coats, blankets, and socks.

This comes as poverty in the country has worsened in recent years, with many families unable to keep their homes and children warm.

UNICEF had previously stated that in 2025, more than 12 million Afghan children will need humanitarian assistance.
