Afghanistan, Nov. 28 -- UNICEF reports that millions of children worldwide are growing up with mothers who have suffered violence, placing their safety, wellbeing, and development at serious risk globally.

UNICEF has issued a strong warning about the global rise in violence against women and its impact on children. The agency reports that more than one-quarter of the world's children live with mothers who experienced physical, psychological, or sexual abuse in the past year.

According to UNICEF, 610 million children are growing up in homes affected by domestic violence. The organization says such exposure undermines children's safety, mental health, and educational stability.
