The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has reported that more than 22 million people in Afghanistan, including 12 million children, are currently in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. This alarming figure underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis facing the country.

During a recent monitoring period, over 829,000 children were screened for severe acute malnutrition. Among them, approximately 37,000 children-59 percent of whom were girls-received treatment, highlighting UNICEF's focus on addressing child malnutrition across Afghanistan.
