Afghanistan, Nov. 10 -- The UN Development Programme said over 6,400 facilities, including schools and clinics, across Afghanistan have been equipped with solar energy since 2021.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said more than 6,400 facilities across Afghanistan have been equipped with solar energy since 2021.
In a statement on X on Monday, the agency said these include 5,462 healthcare centers and 153 schools now operating with renewable power.
UNDP added that 854 small businesses-many led by women-are also benefiting from clean energy, helping drive economic resilience in local communities.
