Afghanistan, Oct. 9 -- The United Nations warned that worsening drought across Afghanistan has dried water sources, destroyed crops, and left millions of families struggling with hunger and survival.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that severe drought conditions are threatening millions of families across Afghanistan, deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis.

In a statement issued on Thursday, OCHA said Afghanistan communities are enduring the "worst possible conditions," with water sources drying up and farmlands failing to yield crops.
