Afghanistan, Feb. 6 -- The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) warns that the denial of education threatens the future of millions of children worldwide, with "irreversible" consequences for both them and their communities.
The UNHCR published a report on Wednesday, February 5th, stating that 7.2 million refugee children around the world are currently deprived of education.
Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, expressed concern over the prohibition of education for millions globally. He called on countries worldwide to intensify their efforts to meet the educational needs of refugee children and to ensure access to education by 2030.
