Afghanistan, March 3 -- The United Nations Security Council is set to hold a meeting later this month to discuss the possible extension of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA). According to a recent report from the Security Council published on Sunday, March 2, the upcoming session will take place in March 2025, aimed at evaluating the performance of UNAMA and deciding whether its mandate should be extended.

The meeting is scheduled as the current mandate of UNAMA will end in less than two weeks, on March 17.
