Afghanistan, Feb. 18 -- Kanni Wignaraja, the UN Assistant Secretary-General, has arrived in Afghanistan for discussions on projects related to women.

The UN announced on Friday, on its "X" social media platform that this UN official will participate in discussions on women's issues, including livelihood, empowerment, provision of essential services, and participation in society.

Ms. Wignaraja continues to serve as the Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at the UN Development Office.

Alongside her agenda, Wignaraja is slated to convene with development partners and representatives from the private sector, indicating a multifaceted approach to addressing Afghanistan's challenges.
