Afghanistan, Jan. 7 -- A UK MP warned that turning back on women in Afghanistan would betray women and undermine women's rights globally.
Alice McDonald, a member of the UK Parliament, said in a statement that the government cannot turn its back on the crisis in Afghanistan. She emphasized that failing to act on gender apartheid and systemic oppression would betray not only Afghanistan women but women worldwide.
The MP described the situation for Afghanistan women and girls as "devastating," but stressed that neither the UK nor the international community should surrender.
