Afghanistan, Jan. 4 -- British and French fighter jets struck an underground ISIS facility in Syria, successfully hitting targets without harming civilians, according to the UK Ministry of Defence.

The UK Ministry of Defence confirmed that Royal Air Force jets, alongside French aircraft, carried out airstrikes Saturday evening on an underground facility in Syria used by ISIS. The operation was deemed successful, with all planes returning safely and no civilian casualties reported.

The strikes employed precision-guided Paveway IV bombs to seal the facility's entrances, preventing potential use by terrorist operatives. Initial assessments indicate the targeted site was effectively neutralized.
