Afghanistan, Oct. 11 -- The U.S. Defense Department will build a dedicated pilot training center for Qatari forces at Idaho's Mountain Home Air Base as part of growing defense cooperation.

The Pentagon said it will establish a specialized air training center for Qatari pilots in Idaho, underscoring deepening military cooperation between the United States and Qatar.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced the plan on Friday following talks in Washington with Qatari Defense Minister Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The new facility will be built at Mountain Home Air Force Base and is expected to host Qatar's F-15 fighter jets and air crews.
