Afghanistan, Oct. 29 -- U.S. strikes on suspected drug-trafficking boats in the eastern Pacific killed 14 people, officials said, as Mexico assisted in rescue efforts.
The Pentagon said on Tuesday that U.S. forces killed 14 people in strikes on four boats suspected of drug trafficking in the eastern Pacific Ocean. One survivor was rescued from the water after the assault, defense officials reported.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated the operation was carried out in coordination with Mexican naval forces as part of President Donald Trump's intensified campaign against transnational narcotics networks. The raids targeted vessels moving along well-known smuggling routes.
