Afghanistan, Sept. 30 -- The United States has revoked sanctions waivers for Iran's Chabahar Port, threatening India's vital regional connectivity projects and raising strategic concerns over Afghanistan and Central Asia access routes.
The U.S. State Department has announced the cancellation of the sanctions waiver for Iran's Chabahar Port, which officially came into effect on Monday.
According to India Today, the waiver had been granted in 2018 to facilitate Afghanistan's reconstruction. Its removal now brings all Indian firms engaged in the project under U.S. sanctions.
