Afghanistan, Nov. 20 -- A U.S. federal court sentenced 19-year-old Afghan citizen Abdullah Hajizadeh to 15 years for attempting to provide weapons for an ISIS-linked attack.

A federal court in the United States sentenced a 19-year-old Afghan citizen to 15 years in prison for his role in attempting to provide weapons for a planned ISIS-related attack during the 2024 elections. He will be deported after completing his sentence.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Abdullah Hajizadeh, a permanent resident, and another individual, Nasir Ahmad Towhidi, received firearms and ammunition in the months leading up to the elections. Authorities said both were aware the weapons were intended for a terrorist operation.
