Afghanistan, Nov. 2 -- French prosecutors charged a man and a woman over the organized theft of royal jewelry from the Louvre Museum, both denying involvement.
French prosecutors said on Saturday that a man and a woman have been placed under formal investigation on suspicion of organized jewelry theft from the Louvre Museum. Both suspects, currently in custody, have denied any involvement in the high-profile robbery that stunned France earlier this month.
The Paris prosecutor's office said the 37-year-old man faces charges of organized theft and criminal conspiracy, while the 38-year-old woman is accused of aiding and abetting the crime. Three other people arrested earlier in connection with the case were later released without charge.
