Afghanistan, Feb. 4 -- Local authorities in Afghanistan's Samangan province have reported that two miners lost their lives following the collapse of a coal mine in the Dara-i-Suf district.

Hashmatullah Rahmani, spokesperson for the provincial security command, stated in a press release that the incident occurred on Monday, February 3, in the "Shakol Sheikha" area of the district.

He confirmed that a team has been dispatched to investigate the cause of the collapse and provide assistance to any injured miners at the site.

This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in Samangan. Many coal miners in the province have previously lost their lives due to mine collapses and explosions.
