Turkey has signed a £8 billion (about USD 10 billion) agreement with Britain to purchase 20 Eurofighter Typhoon jets, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced during a visit to Ankara. The deal is described by London as a major step in deepening defence cooperation between the NATO allies.
The United Kingdom said the contract will significantly strengthen Turkiye's air defence network. Delivery of the first jets is expected to begin in 2030, with an option included for Turkiye to buy additional aircraft in future.
