Afghanistan, Feb. 12 -- Following an increase in the arrest and deportation of Afghan migrants in Turkey, media outlets in the country reported the detention of 80 refugees, including 75 Afghan nationals, in two separate events in the cities of Erzurum and Sivas.
The individuals were apprehended for entering the country "illegally" without documentation and were subsequently transferred to deportation centers in the Eskisehir province.
Turkish authorities stated that the reason for the detention of these Afghan refugees was their lack of legal residency documents.
