Afghanistan, March 4 -- The Turkish police arrested 20 Afghan refugees who had entered the country "illegally" and transferred them to the foreign nationals' deportation center. The refugees were identified and detained after their driver had abandoned them on the roadside.
Turkish media reported on Sunday that local residents of the Akyazi neighborhood informed the police about the presence of the Afghan refugees, leading security forces to apprehend them.
After completing the necessary administrative procedures, the refugees were transferred to the Sakarya deportation center before being sent back to Afghanistan.
