Afghanistan, Feb. 3 -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday sharply criticized South African comedian Trevor Noah and threatened legal action over jokes made during the Grammy Awards ceremony.

Noah, hosting Sunday night's event, joked about Trump's past association with financier Jeffrey Epstein while introducing the Song of the Year award.

Trump later responded on social media, calling Noah "pathetic" and said the remarks were false and defamatory, adding his legal team was preparing action.

Epstein's name resurfaced after previously sealed court documents were released, again drawing attention to connections between prominent political and business figures.
