Afghanistan, Jan. 19 -- US President Donald Trump accused Denmark of failing to counter Russian threats in Greenland, renewing demands for US ownership of the strategic island.
Donald Trump said Denmark has failed to take action to remove what he called the "Russian threat" from Greenland, escalating his long-running pressure campaign over the Arctic territory.
In a post on his social media platform, Trump said NATO had warned Denmark for 20 years about Russian risks in Greenland, adding that "now is the time" for action.
Trump has repeatedly said he will accept nothing less than ownership of Greenland, a semi-autonomous Danish territory, arguing it is vital to US national security.
