Afghanistan, Dec. 14 -- President Trump warned that the recent ISIS attack in Syria, which killed U.S. soldiers and an interpreter, will face immediate and serious retaliation.
Two U.S. soldiers and an American civilian interpreter were killed in an ISIS-linked attack near Palmyra, central Syria, on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Three other U.S. soldiers were wounded when the group, conducting a key engagement with local leaders, was ambushed in an area not fully controlled by the Syrian government.
