Afghanistan, Aug. 23 -- President Trump announced the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw will be held at Washington's Kennedy Center, as FIFA expands the tournament to 48 teams.
Trump made the announcement at the White House on August 22, standing alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who brought the World Cup trophy to the Oval Office.
The tournament will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico and will feature an expanded field of 48 national teams, the largest in the event's history.
