Afghanistan, Nov. 28 -- President Trump announced that 20-year-old National Guard soldier Sarah Beckstrom, wounded in Wednesday's Washington shooting, has died, deepening national shock and grief.
President Donald Trump has confirmed that Sarah Beckstrom, a 20-year-old National Guard member wounded in Wednesday's shooting in Washington, D.C., has died from her injuries. Another member of the Guard, 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe, remains in critical condition.
Authorities say the suspected gunman, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, was injured in an exchange of fire and is now under medical care and police supervision. He faces three counts of armed attempted murder, and additional murder charges are expected following Beckstrom's death.
