Afghanistan, Nov. 1 -- The Torkham border reopened today to allow the return of Afghan refugees deported from Pakistan, amid rising tensions and worsening humanitarian conditions.

The officials border authority in Torkham announced that the crossing would reopen temporarily on Saturday to allow the return of Afghan refugees deported from Pakistan. Officials said the reopening was limited and would only apply to individuals expelled under Pakistan's recent mass deportation drive.
